43 IAS Cadre Posts Vacant

As many as 43 posts are vacant in the IAS cadre of the State out of which 27 relates to direct recruitment and 16 are from promotion quota.

In a written reply to a question from Khageswar Behera (BJD), the Chief Minister said that the Centre has been moved to fill up the vacancies in the direct recruitment quota. Proposal to fill up four vacancies in the promotion quota is pending with the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), he said.

The total strength of IAS cadre in the State is 226. At present, 183 officers are available in the cadre out of which 36 are on Central deputation, four are on inter-State deputation, two officers are under suspension and one is on study leave, the Chief Minister said.
