Congress members on Friday demanded in the Assembly that the Justice AS Naidu Commission report on hooch tragedy in Khurda and Cuttack districts which took place in the first week of February last year should be placed in the House.

Raising the issue during zero hour, Santosh Singh Saluja (Cong) said though the Commission has already submitted the report, it is yet to be placed in the House and no action has been taken on its recommendations.

Alleging that people had died by drinking cheap medicinal formulations and not liquor, Saluja said Speaker Pradip Amat should direct the Excise Minister to place statement in the House in this regard.

Supporting Saluja, Dr Prafulla Majhi (Cong) also demanded that the Speaker should give a ruling directing the Government to place the report in the House.
