A physician working in a medical inside the Birla Tyres campus is reportedly missing for the last two days. Industrial Area police have initiated investigation following an FIR lodged by his family members on Monday.
According to the FIR, physician Gouri Shankar Satpathy left home for morning walk on Saturday and went missing since then.
Security personnel at the entrance gate of the tyre manufacturing industry claimed to have seen him at around 9 am roaming outside the gate. His family members, however, fear that it could be a case of kidnapping as money has been withdrawn using Satpathy’s card from an ATM counter in Vizag.
“A message in his cell phone, which he had left at home, confirmed that money had been withdrawn from his account,” said a family member.
Meanwhile, a police team led by an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) has left for Vizag.
“We are inquiring and hope to get a clue once our team arrives in Vizag and verifies the information,” said IIC of Industrial Area police station Maheswar Sethi.
