OPTCL Signs Tripartite Wage Pact

The Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) has signed a tripartite wage settlement with employees represented by five registered employees’ federations.

The Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) has signed a tripartite wage settlement with employees represented by five registered employees’ federations.

 As per the agreement, non-executives of the company will receive revised wage with effect from April 1, 2010 and allowances from June 2, 2012. The tripartite settlement was signed by OPTCL Director (HRD) S K Rath and Director (Finance) B P Mohapatra on behalf of the management in presence of OPTCL CMD Hemanta Sharma and Labour Commissioner Shalini Pandit.

 The wage settlement provides opportunities for job advancement, quality, affordable healthcare and substantial wage increases for non-executives of OPTCL, which will cover the employees of the distribution companies (DISCOMs).

 The settlement contains benefits, which include increase in wage and allowance structure.

The trade union leaders have demonstrated a keen desire to make an overall improvement towards productivity, quality, safety and discipline in the sector.
