One person was arrested by Nischintakoili police for duping people of lakhs of rupees by making false promise of giving jobs in foreign countries on Thursday.
According to Karan Hembram, IIC of Nikirei police station, Basudeb Jena of Nikirei had filed an FIR against Sanjay Rout of Chhoti Mangalpur.
Basudeb alleged that Sanjay had taken `1.5 lakh from him with an assurance of providing job to his son Sudhansu Shekhar Jena at Singapore in October.
As Sanjay failed to provide the job within the stipulated time, Basudeb asked him to return his money. After Sanjay failed to pay him back, Basudeb filed the FIR.
When Nikirei IIC came to know that Sanjay was taking money from job aspirants claiming himself to be a known person of Chairman of Ashutosh Manpower Consultancy Service (ASMACS) Dev Mohanty, they informed their Nischintakoili counterparts.
