Entrepreneur and social activist Abhaya Samantaray and his supporters on Sunday joined the BJP at a simple ceremony at the party’s State office here.
Welcoming the newcomers to the party, State BJP president KV Singhdeo said the ruling BJD and the Opposition Congress have failed the people during their long stint in Government. The BJP is the only alternative which can provide good governance to the people.
Accusing both the BJD Government in the State and the Congress led UPA Government at the Centre of indulging in corrupt practices, Singhdeo urged the youths to work hard to bring BJP to power.
Senior BJP leaders BB Harichandan, general secretary (organisation) Prasanna Mishra, spokesperson Samir Mohanty and district BJP president Amiya Dash addressed the function.
