News Channel Owner’s House Raided

Jharkhand Police on Thursday raided the residence of the owner of a local TV news channel in IRC Village here for his alleged involvement in a land fraud. The owner has been accused of duping a person of ` 2.4 crore after assuring him of selling the land in 2011. The victim had contacted the owner to buy their two acre land in Gurgaon.

To purchase the land, which was priced at ` 2.82 crore, the complainant had paid an advance of ` 2.4 crore. But he started getting suspicious after the owner took a long time in handing over the land documents.

The complainant filed a case with the local police in Dhanbad. Acting on a court order, Jharkhand Police arrived in the Capital city on Thursday to investigate the case. On their arrival, they found the owner of the news channel absconding. No information has been received regarding his whereabouts.
