Close shave for Pradeep Majhi

Congress MP from Nabarangpur Pradeep Majhi and DCC president Narayan Patro were injured in an accident on Thursday-Friday midnight at a village in Andhra Pradesh.

It occurred at Metabalsa village near Bobbili in AP. The former Youth Congress president, Majhi, was busy attending marriage functions throughout Thursday.

In the morning after attending a wedding reception in Nabarangpur he was on his way to Rayagada to attend the marriage of a Congress worker.

After that he was to board Hirakhand Express at Rayagada to attend another wedding ceremony in Berhampur. As he missed the train, he took the road route to Vizianagaram to catch the same train.

Majhi, who is recovering from his injuries, told this paper that on Bobbili-Rambhadrapuram highway the driver lost control over the vehicle at a sharp bend and the vehicle overturned and fell into a water tank. Some persons in passing by vehicles rescued them, he added.

After getting information, the mobile health ambulance of Andhra Pradesh rushed to the spot and all were taken to a hospital at Bobbili town, around 2 km from the spot. 

The DCC president was admitted to NRI Hospital in Visakhapatnam early on Friday.

Majhi and his driver, who received minor injuries, were discharged after first aid.
