My photograph was morphed, says Majhi

The State Congress found itself in an embarrassing situation on Saturday as a purported photograph of party MP Pradip Majhi with two women began doing the rounds in Facebook.

The Nabarangpur MP, considered to be the tribal face of the party in the State, filed an FIR at Tughlaq Road police station in New Delhi in this connection.

The photograph was uploaded in Facebook after it was published in a local newspaper on Friday.

Describing the photograph as morphed, Majhi told this paper that it is a conspiracy against him by political rivals. The Congress MP alleged that the same forces, who were behind threat calls to him five months back, are involved in this case also.

An FIR was filed in Nabarangpur police station in this connection, he said.

Majhi said the case has been immediately transferred to the cyber crime cell by the Delhi police and investigation is on.

The BJD, however, downplayed the developments. Describing this as a private affair, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kalpataru Das said he has no comments to make.

OPCC president Jaydev Jena also wanted the investigation to be over. Majhi was made a member of the reconstituted media department of the State Congress on Friday.
