Biju award for scientist Nanda

Noted scientist Prof Janardan Nanda has been nominated for the prestigious Biju Patnaik Award for Scientific Excellence for 2011.

Noted scientist Prof Janardan Nanda has been nominated for the prestigious Biju Patnaik Award for Scientific Excellence for 2011.

Instituted by Odisha Bigyan Academy (OBA), the award will be conferred on Prof Nanda for his   contribution in the field of scientific research.

The award will be given away at a special function here on July 19.

Currently working in the Department of Electrical Engineering of IIT, Delhi, as a senior scientist of Indian National Science Academy, Prof Nanda is engaged in R&D, consultancy and technical education, in India. He is also involved in INSPIRE and MENTORING Schemes of Department of Science and Technology, Indian National Science Academy (INSA) and Indian National Engineering Academy (INAE).

A Professor Emeritus of IIT, Delhi, Dr Nanda has around 300 research publications to his credit. He has supervised 24 doctoral level and 150 master’s level students.

He has also served as a visiting professor in the US, Canada, the UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Mauritius, Tripoli, Algeria and Papua New Guinea and has contributed in initiating collaborative research and laboratory set-ups.
