One Nalini Sobhasundar, the prime accused in the alleged rape of a trainee nun in Kandhamal district was arrested from Mohana in Gajapati district on Tuesday.
According to Kandhamal SDPO Vishal, the victim hailing from Minzapanka village under Brahmanigaon police limits, was taking nun training in a church at Adoga in Chennai.
On July 5, she reached Berhampur by a train. On the pretext of taking her home, her cousin Jotindra Sobhasundar along with two others took her to an unknown place and kept her under their custody till July 11. They raped her all these days.
On July 11, they left the victim near Berhampur railway station. She managed to reach Brahmanigaon and lodged a complaint with police on July 13.
Following investigation, Jotindra and another youth were nabbed, but Nalini had managed to evade police dragnet till Tuesday.
