Jewel thief held

Police arrested a burglar on Tuesday for stealing jewellery and cash amounting to Rs16 lakh from a house in IRC village.

The accused has been identified as Rahul Moharana, who broke into the house on July 6 night. There was no one in the house when the burglary took place. Police seized 540 grams of gold, one kg silver, one diamond bracelet and around Rs 27,000 in cash from Moharana. The accused had reportedly stacked the stolen ornaments at his neighbour’s place.  Moharana’s wife reportedly worked as a  domestic help in the house where the theft took place.
