RKVY projects under government monitor

The State Government has decided to put in place a monitoring  mechanism to ensure implementation of different projects under the Rashtriya Krushi Vikas Yojana (RKVY). The implementing agencies have been asked to  strengthen their monitoring system.

The Government received ` 365 crore from the Centre under the RKVY during 2012-13 out of which ` 300 crore has been utilised.

The funds were utilised under several schemes including green revolution in eastern India, Initiatives for Nutritional Security through Intensive Millets Promotion (INSIMP), special programme for  Oil Palm Area Expansion (OPAE), vegetable initiatives for urban clusters, national mission for protein supplements, dairy development, fisheries, goatery and other activities.

As per available data, during 11th Plan  period ` 904.89 crore was received from the Centre under RKVY with yearly break up of ` 36.60 crore in 2007-08, ` 115.44 crore in   2008-09, ` 121.49 crore in 2009-10, ` 274.40 crore in 2010-11 and ` 356.96 crore in 2011-12. The utilisation during 11th Plan period   has been ` 895.68 crore.
