City kids all set to conquer

BHUBANESWAR: The Bhubaneswar finals of the Horlicks Wizkids, South Asia’s largest interschool art, literary and cultural competition by Krayon, culminated with Urja Bhuyan from Loyala School and Devnandan Mahapatra from BJEM School emerging winners. These two will represent the city at the Horlicks Wizkids South Asia Finals in November 2014.

The Bhubaneswar finals saw more than 3100 students from 35 schools gathering at the XIMB auditorium to present and display their talents.

School students from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh will be participating in the contest to show their talent. The winners of Horlicks Wizkids South Asia 2014 will earn scholarships worth ` 1,00,000 and a five-day educational trip to Spain.

Along with the popular on-ground city finals, Horlicks has introduced eWizkids- a unique online participation procedure which takes the contest to 29 cities this year. The theme for this year’s contest is ‘Transform Everyday’.  In addition to the on-ground leg, students can also participate online by registering for eWizkids (www.horlickswizkids.com) comprising an IQ Test, talent videos and online voting.

Commenting on the launch of this season of Horlicks Wizkids, Jayant Singh, EVP, Marketing, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare India said, ‘’For the last 11 years, Horlicks Wizkids has been one of the most sought after platforms that has been bringing students from various schools, across different geographies under one roof. Explaining the theme of the contest, Syed Sultan Ahmed, MD EduMedia, Project Director of Horlicks Wizkids said, ‘’Every day brings with itself a new hope, a new learning and a new challenge. The constant process of transforming is what makes us achieve our goals. And that is the theme for this year.’’

Wizkids is South Asia’s largest hunt for outstanding students who have a good balance of character and competence.  For the first year, the competition is helping participants to connect with previous Wizkids to understand their journey of transformation and the role of nutrition in it.
