Bonda Students Set to Join KISS

BHUBANESWAR: Efforts towards integrating the most backward primitive tribal groups in the mainstream have got a shot in the arm with 33 students from the most primitive Bonda tribe of Malkangiri district set to join Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) for higher education.

The first batch of 21 students including five girls reached KISS campus on Tuesday. The students belonging to Khairiput, Bilasanipada, Padeiguda and Mudulipada of Bondaghati will take admission in Plus Two Arts, Science and Commerce streams.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik met the students at his Secretariat chamber and congratulated them on their achievement. Patnaik gifted a dictionary to each of them.
