BALANGIR: A teacher, Madhusudan Seth, of Phatamunda Upgraded UP School here, has been arrested for allegedly molesting a student of Class VII of the school. He was produced in court on Thursday, which remanded him in judicial custody after rejecting his bail plea.
On Wednesday, while the English class was in progress, the teacher asked the girl to bring her book to him. When she went near him, the accused molested her.
The girl told her mother about the incident who informed other villagers. They then beat up the accused teacher, locked him in a classroom and informed the police. The police rescued the teacher and took him to Tusura police station.
This is second such incident in less than six days in the district. On Friday, headmaster of Bhutiarbahal Primary School, Bana Bihari Rath, was arrested for alleged sexually assaulting three girl students of the school.
