BHUBANESWAR: A person with criminal antecedents sustained grievous head injuries after being attacked by a group of youths near Mali Sahi under Airfield police limits here late Monday night.
The injured, Akshya sahoo (40) of Panchapalli mouza, was convicted in a murder case and had served an 18-year prison term.
Police have detained two youths, Santosh and Saroj Pradhan of the same village in this connection.
Sources said four youths attacked Sahoo with an iron rod at around 11.30 pm. The attack was a fall out of a previous enmity over land dispute. A profusely bleeding Sahoo was rushed to Capital Hospital. His condition is stated to be critical.
Police said a case has been registered in this regard and efforts are on to nab the other two accused.
