BHUBANESWAR: East Coast Railway continued to control its train services in the Kothavalasa-Koraput-Kirandul railway section and Koraput-Rayagada railway sections for the second consecutive day as heavy rains lashed Andhra Pradesh and its neighbouring regions.
As many as five trains were re-scheduled while the Visakhapatnam-Koraput Express was cancelled from the originating station on Friday. The train has also been cancelled from Koraput for Saturday.
ECoR sources said Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur Hirakhand express, Durg-Jagdalpur express, Howrah-Jagdalpur Samaleswari express, Sambalpur-Koraput passenger and Rourkela-Koraput Intercity express were short-terminated at various points from both directions because of the incessant downpour. “We are hopeful that normal services will resume once the rains relent,” said an ECoR official.
