Plus-2 Exam on March 3; Practical will Precede Theory

The annual Plus-Two examinations, to be conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), will commence from March 3, but in a departure from the past, the State Government has decided that practical tests will precede the theory papers.
The practical tests will start on February 17 and complete on February 22. The theory paper examination will end on March 26. The advancement in the schedule has been decided keeping in view the ensuing general elections later this year.
Announcing this, Minister of State for Higher Education Badri Narayan Patra said the change in schedule has also been made to facilitate students to appear for all- India engineering and medical entrance tests. All the tests __ for regular, ex-regular and vocational streams __ will be held simultaneously.
As part of a slew of reforms in examination, the State Government has decided that there will be only one sitting per day. Similarly, question paper sets will be sent to the examination centres through the examination management hubs. For valuation too, similar route will be observed.
This year, there will be no change in question paper patterns.
There will be four different sets of question papers with random change in the slotting of the questions. The evaluation process too will remain unchanged. The CHSE has already uploaded the sample question papers on its official website. Patra said the answer sheets will be limited to 32 pages and no additional sheet will be provided to the students.
Earlier in the day, the Minister held a meeting with Secretary Gagan Kumar Dhal, Additional Secretary Durga Prasad Behera and Chairman of CHSE chairman Basudev Chhatoi.
