Govt Plan on Talasari Beach

BHUBANESWAR: The State Government has decided to constitute a special planning authority for development of Talasari beach area in Balasore district.

A decision to this effect was taken at a high level meeting presided by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Secretariat here on Friday. About 30 villages in Talsari, Chandaneswar and Bhusandeswar will be covered by the authority to be headed by the District Collector.

An official from the Tourism Department will be the member secretary of the authority. The Chief Minister said an organisation having experience in tourism sector should be entrusted with the task of preparing master plan for the development.

A project management unit will be set up for development of tourism in the area. Growth of hotel industry, lighting of the beach, development of roads and coastal security were also discussed at the meeting.

Minister of State for Tourism and Culture Ashok Panda, BJD MLA from Bhograi and Government Chief Whip Anant Das, Chief Secretary GC Pati, Director General of Police Sanjib Marik and senior officials attended the meeting.
