BHUBANESWAR: Business leader and co-founder of IT major Mindtree Subroto Bagchi gave the third lecture of Odisha Knowledge Hub (OKH) in the State Secretariat here on Saturday.

Speaking on ‘Platform and Purpose’, Bagchi said leadership depends on the platform from which a person or an institution operates and the purpose that the person or institution maintains. The impact made by a person or institution over a period of time defines the purpose, he added.

“The platform of a person is defined by his educational background, experience, net-work and net-worth,” he said.

Bagchi said persons with ‘high purpose’ innovate new paths which others follow. Visionary leadership of persons with high purpose brings about positive revolutionary changes making the world a better place to live, he added.

Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi felicitated Bagchi by presenting a memento.

While replying to a media quarry after the meeting, Development Commissioner R Balakrishan said when the State is celebrating its 80th Foundation Day and birth centenary of the legendary leader Biju Patnaik, it is a matter of pride that an Odia scholar and entrepreneur addresses the State Administration in OKH lecture series.

Chief Minister Naveen Patanaik participated in the lecture from his office over video conference and wished it a grand success.

Minister of Panchayati Raj Arun Sahoo, Minister of State for IT Pranab Prakash Das, Minister of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Sanjay Das Burma, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of various departments were present.

Keeping in view the growing popularity of the programme, arrangements were made to extend the programme to all districts through video conference. District and State-level officers participated in the lecture through the video conference.
