JAGATSINGHPUR: The five-day Zilla Mahotsav, Kallola - 2016, was inaugurated by Finance Minister Pradip Kumar Amat here on Friday.
Amat highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the district and said the festival showcases traditional art, craft and culture of the district.
Earlier, a cultural rally was taken out from Gandhi Chowk to Collector's Office Ground by school students, Government officials and elected representatives. MP Kulamani Samal, MLAs Chiranjib Biswal, Rajashree Mallick and Prasant Muduli, Collector Bijay Ketan Upadhaya, chairman of Jagatsinghpur Municipality Biplab Chaudhury and columnist Bibhuti Pattnaik attended the function. More than 100 stalls have been set up for exhibition of local products.
