PHULBANI: Maoist leader Sabyasachi Panda appeared before the District & Sessions Judge Court in Phulbani on Tuesday in connection with three cases filed under Daringbadi police limits. All the three cases were registered in 2011 when Panda was active in Daringbadi area.
In one of the three cases, it was alleged that Maoists, under the leadership of Panda, attacked security forces during a combing operation in Daringbadi in 2011. In the attack, havildar Resham Bahadur Thakuri had died.
After appearance of the Maoist leader in the District Court, the cases were transferred to Additional District Judge Court, Phulbani for trial and the next hearing was fixed on April 29.
