Rao, New CBI Joint Director

Additional Director General of Police M Nageswar Rao has been appointed as the Joint Director of CBI.

BHUBANESWAR: Additional Director General of Police M Nageswar Rao has been appointed as the Joint Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The 1986 batch IPS officer is currently posted as ADG, Railways. Rao said he is likely to take charge of the new assignment next week.

The ADG-ranked officer held several important positions during his career.

Before his current assignment, he headed the Fire Service and Home Guards wing of State Police and led a team to Andhra Pradesh for assisting in reconstruction and rehabilitation when cyclone Hudhud hit the southern State in 2013.

Rao is a native of Warangal in Telangana.
