6000 Appear Online JEE

Online Joint Entrance Examination across Odisha, the first round of second phase of JEE Mains 2016 got over on Saturday.

BHUBANESWAR: With around 6000 students appearing for the CBSE Online Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) across the State, the first round of second phase of JEE Mains 2016 got over on Saturday.

The examination was conducted at 18 centres in eight cities and towns in Odisha. The test was spanned over two sittings. While the Capital had maximum nine centres, Balasore had two and Angul, Berhampur, Cuttack, Jeypor, Rourkela and Sambalpur had one centre each where the test was conducted.

With temperatures soaring above 40 degree Celsius in most cities, parents braved the sweltering heat to stay put at the examination centres waiting for their children as they attempted the JEE Main.

While the CBSE had tied up with a IT major for the conduct of the online test, apart from minor issues, no major technical glitch was reported from any of the centres. Phase two of the JEE Main examination is scheduled on Sunday.
