2 UTPs End Hunger Strike

BHUBANESWAR:  Two undertrial prisoners (UTPs) facing Maoist violence cases, who were on a hunger strike since March 30, broke their fast on Sunday.

The UTPs Kamalkanta Sethi and Ranjit Sana were admitted to Capital Hospital on Saturday and taken back to Bhubaneswar Special Jail at Jharpada after they decided to end the strike on Sunday.

Their associate Kishore Kumar Jena, who was undergoing treatment at Capital Hospital, was shifted to SCBMCH at Cuttack after his condition deteriorated.

Three other UTPs, Dunna Keshav Rao alias Azad, Ashutosh Soren and Chandravati Tukuruka, who are on hunger strike, returned to Jharpada Jail after their condition improved.
