BHUBANESWAR: Police Commissioner YB Khurania will conduct an inquiry into why a woman police officer went to Champua MLA Sanatan Mahakud’s house to probe Kavita Mahakud’s allegations.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, Khurania said while Sanatan’s son Pankaj, who Kavita claimed to be her husband, was given 15 days’ time to depose before Mahila Police in the City, under what circumstances the investigating officer visited their house to record statements will be probed.

While Pankaj was served a summon on March 18 for physical appearance before the Commissionerate of Police a few days back, a woman officer had visited his house to investigate the torture case filed by Kavita after completion of the notice period.

On March 1, Kabita had filed a case of physical and mental harassment against the Champua MLA. On the basis of her complaint, Mahila Police registered a case under Sections 498 A, 341, 294 and 34 of the IPC.
