Odisha Government to Construct Bridge Over Indravati River

The 100 foot-long bridge connecting Jotiaguda with Dhipaguda is being built at a cost of Rs 1.5 crore, officials said.

KORAPUT: Odisha government has decided to construct a suspension bridge over the backwaters of Indravati river bringing cheers among the people of 11 villages of Duasuni panchayat in the district.

The 100 foot-long bridge connecting Jotiaguda with Dhipaguda is being built at an estimated cost of Rs 1.5 crore, officials said.

The villagers use rickety boats to cross the river or travel 70 km extra enroute Borigumma to reach the block headquarters.

"The project was being taken up on a priority basis and preliminary official work for it had been completed. We hope to start the work soon and the bridge will be ready for public use in the next few months," Koraput Collector Jaya Kumar V said.
