Biju Centenary Meet at Dubai

BHUBANESWAR: Birth centenary of legendary Biju Patnaik was observed at Dubai in UAE.

Inaugurating a photo exhibition on Biju Patnaik organised by Odia Samaj of UAE, School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra said Biju Babu continued to inspire people in his own land and also in foreign countries. He also appreciated the role of non-resident Odias for development of the State.

Utsav-2016 was celebrated on April 8 which showcased Odisha’s culture, tradition, art, music and dance. More than 500 Odias including those from other neighbouring countries of Oman and Kuwait attended the event.

Mishra had a luncheon meeting with Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Social Empowerment of UAE at Abu Dhabi during his visit. Mishra informed him about the industrial policy and various reforms initiative taken by the State Government. He also addressed a meeting of Dubai chapter of the Institute of Charter Accountants of India which was attended by 400 professionals.
