University Status for Rajendra College Soon

BALANGIR: Four colleges in Kalahandi, Sonepur, Nuapada and Balangir districts will be upgraded to the status of universities soon, said Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra here on Thursday. Rajendra College in Balangir town, one of the oldest in Western Odisha, has found a place in the list. Currently, it is an autonomous institution and is NAAC accredited as B++.

The Minister was addressing mediapersons after inaugurating an Aahar centre near District Headquarters Hospital here on Thursday. The centre has a capacity to serve food for 800 people per day.

Balangir MP Kalikesh Narayan Singhdeo, MP AU Singhdeo, Leader of Opposition Narasingh Mishra and Collector M Muthukumar attended the function.

Later, the Minister flew to Titlagarh in the district to inaugurate another Aahar centre.

The function was attended by Kantabanji MLA Ayub Khan, Titilagarh MLA Tukuni Sahu, MP Kalikesh Narayan Singdeo and District Collector.
