NIMAPARA: A woman of Jhampulakuda village under Nimapara police limits was allegedly poisoned to death on Thursday.
She has been identified as Hulashmani Pradhan (27). Her father Subash Barik of Padmapur village under Balanga police limits alleged that Hulashmani had married Narayan in 2007.
After two years, her in-laws demanded a dowry of `50,000. On Thursday, Hulashmani was forced to consume poison and admitted in a private hospital at Cuttack, where doctors declared her dead.
After postmortem, the body was handed over to her father. Her husband and in-laws are absconding. A case has been registered.
