Six Arrested

CUTTACK: Malgodown Police on Friday arrested two persons on charges of stealing oil from a tanker and four others for beating the duo mercilessly.

Two helpers, Sidhanta Sahu of Khandapada and Prafulla Sahu of Anandapur in Keonjhar, were caught red handed by four persons while stealing oil from the vehicle on Thursday night. The four tied the duo and assaulted them mercilessly.

On being informed, police rushed to the spot, rescued the grievously injured helpers and admitted the duo in SCB Medical College and Hospital here.

Police also arrested the four persons. They are Debasis Pati of Madhupatana, Bijan Chaudhury of Laxmi Sagar, Bijay Singh of Patra Sahi and Karunakar Behera of Mahanadi Vihar.
