3 Accused in Gangrape Absconding

JAJPUR: A criminal case has been registered against three youths of Tulati village here for allegedly gang-raping a minor girl.

While the incident occurred on April 7, a case against the accused was filed on Friday following a complaint by the girl’s parents. She was gang-raped by the trio while returning home from her uncle’s house at Tulati under Korei police limits.

One of the accused, Mantu Jena, intercepted her and the trio then took her to a secluded place where they committed the crime.

The girl was rescued by villagers in an unconscious condition and admitted to the Government Hospital at Korei. Her parents were informed. The girl had to be shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital as her condition deteriorated.

After she recovered on Friday, the girl’s parents decided to file an FIR. Efforts are on to nab the accused, police said.
