Train Dacoity Gang Busted, Three Held

BHUBANESWAR:  The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Khurda Road Division on Friday busted a dacoity gang which looted passengers on running trains. Three persons have been arrested and several incriminating items were seized from their possession.

The accused have been identified as Chaturi Mandala (32), Sk Bhajuddin (32) and Ranjan Raj (20). All three are native of Munger district in Bihar. The Crime Prevention and Detection Squad (CPDS) of RPF was tipped about movement of the gang on Bangalore-Guwahati Express which they had boarded from Cuttack.

A three-member team of the CPDS intercepted five persons of the gang at Khurda Road railway station where they were suspiciously moving inside the train. When asked about their credentials, they could neither produce any identity card nor platform or train tickets. While two of them fled from the spot, rest were detained and interrogated at the GRP outpost. After they confessed that they had planned a dacoity, the trio were arrested, said ASI M Barik.
