Fish Traders Threaten Stir against NAC

NIMAPARA:Fish traders of Nimapara have threatened to stage road blockade on Monday alleging neglect by the NAC officials.

More than 50 fishermen families, who have been selling their produce near Dolavedi Chowk since last 40 years, alleged that the NAC officials shifted them to a secluded place affecting their business.

On the other hand, NAC officials said the traders are not willing to shift to the new fish market inaugurated on Wednesday due to different problems. The market was constructed at a cost of `18 lakh.

Merchant leaders said if they are pressurised to shift, they would resort to ‘rasta roko.’ The merchants also submitted a memorandum to the Puri Collector.
