CUTTACK: As many as 4,89,722 out of 5,86,503 students, who appeared for the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, came out successfully registering a record pass percentage of 83.72, which is said to be an all-time high in the history of BSE.
The results of the Matriculation examinations, that were held in 2,884 centres across the State from February 22 to March 4 this year, were announced by School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra and Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Department Ranjana Chopra at BSE Head Office here on Wednesday. The overall pass rate increased by 3 per cent over last year’s 80.93 percent. The pass percentage in regular stream was 85.20 per cent as compared to 82.56 per cent in 2015. In ex-regular stream, 58.22 per cent students cleared the tests compared to 48.5 per cent in 2015.
