Latrines Constructed Under Swachh Bharat Mission

CUTTACK: With an aim to make cities open defecation-free under Swachh Bharat Mission, 15 Individual House Hold Latrine (IHHLs) have been constructed at Nuagad village of Debabhumi gram panchayat under Narsinghpur block in Cuttack district in the first phase.

 Bobby Mohanty Foundation, which completed the toilets, was awarded the job by Rural Water Supply and Sanitation of Athagarh. The foundation would be constructing around 500 IHHLs in Narsinghpur and Badamba blocks.  The foundation has been given an order for 15 more IHHLs which would be completed in 15 days.

 While the Government is spending Rs 12,000 per IHHL measuring 3’2” X 2’2” and a 20” pan, Bobby Mohanty Foundation constructed 5’10” X 5’3” with a 23” pan.

While the civil construction cost stands at Rs 13,000, the foundation is incurring an additional expenditure of Rs 10,000 per IHHL. The total expenses incurred per IHHL is Rs 23,000.
