Congress MLAs support leader in Odisha Assembly Narasingh Mishra

All 15 Congress members on Thursday expressed their full faith and confidence in the leadership of Narasingh Mishra.

BHUBANESWAR: All 15 Congress members on Thursday expressed their full faith and confidence in the leadership of Narasingh Mishra.

The resolution expressing support to Mishra was adopted at the meeting of Congress Legislature Party (CLP). However, president of OPCC Prasad Harichandan did not attend the meeting though he was invited. Sources said CLP secretary Bhujabal Majhi had invited Harichandan to attend the meeting.
The resolution by the CLP has assumed significance in the background of the meeting of four Congress MLAs with party vice-president Rahul Gandhi at New Delhi on Saturday, ostensibly to discuss panchayat polls.

The MLAs who met Rahul Gandhi in presence of general secretary in-charge, Odisha BK Hariprasad are Jacob Pradhan, Krushna Chandra Sagaria, Kailash Chandra Kulesika and Bhujabal Majhi. The resolution refuted media reports that the CLP is a divided house and said all the 16 members of the Assembly are united under the leadership of Mishra. The CLP also authorised Mishra to convey their commitment to AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul.
"He is further authorised to settle differences between MLAs, if any, and take proper action," the resolution stated.
