MALKANGIRI:The mass vaccination drive to combat Japanese Encephalitis is all set to begin from December 5 and will continue till 25, said Collector K Sudarshan Chakravarthy while addressing mediapersons here on Thursday. A total of 20,1827 children in the age group of one to 15, who constitutes 33.4 per cent of the total population of the district, will be covered during the 20-day long vaccination drive. The Collector said, 175 teams have been formed under the micro plan to undertake the drive across the district. The vaccine will not be administered on empty stomach, he said adding there would be no JE vaccination on second Saturday and Wednesday in order to facilitate ongoing regular vaccination drive.
