BHUBANESWAR: Legendary Hindustani classical singer Pandit Jasraj will be performing at Indira Gandhi Park here on December 17 evening. He will be joined by Pt Ram Kumar Mishra on tabla and supported by Sougata Banerjee, among others.
Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has entered into a pact with SPIC MACAY to organise at least two major classical music events every year in public parks in the Temple City.
The programmes will be replicated on the lines of ‘Music in the Park’ held regularly in Delhi’s Nehru Park by SPIC MACAY supported by NDMC.
Bhubaneswar will be only the third among the major cities after Delhi and Jaipur to organise such a programme. Earlier, SPIC MACAY had on its own organised Music In the Park in 2011 featuring Pt Hariprasad Chourasia (hindustani flute) .
