Two die as van overturns  

Two women died on the spot and at least 12 others were injured when the van they were travelling in overturned after hitting a tree near Jorajam under Kinjirkela police limits in Sundargarh district on Friday evening. The deceased are Somari Xalxo (55) and Pushpa Minz (35).

SUNDARGARH : Two women died on the spot and at least 12 others were injured when the van they were travelling in overturned after hitting a tree near Jorajam under Kinjirkela police limits in Sundargarh district on Friday evening. The deceased are Somari Xalxo (55) and Pushpa Minz (35).


 The passengers were on way to Jorajam after attending a wedding ceremony at a nearby village.


 Kinjirkela police station Officer-In-Charge (OIC) Bideshi Bag said the mishap took place at around 6.30 pm when the driver lost control over the vehicle and rammed into the roadside tree before overturning. The condition of the injured is stated to be stable. The bodies were handed over to their family members after autopsy on Saturday.
