Development of rural belts to remain top priority, says CM

Every  part of rural Odisha will get drinking water, concrete road and electricity by 2017-18, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

BERHAMPUR: Every  part of rural Odisha will get drinking water, concrete road and electricity by 2017-18, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Addressing a public gathering at Belaguntha on Sunday, the Chief Minister said Odisha has been transformed into a prosperous State because of people’s support to the BJD. Naveen, who was on a whirlwind tour to Gajapati and Ganjam districts, said his Government has implemented several developmental schemes for the people of Odisha.

“The BJD Government is determined to improve the life of people residing in rural pockets of the State,”he said, while urging people to continue their support to the party.
 The Chief Minister also addressed public meetings at Kabisuryanagar and Dhanaghara where he said there will be no dearth of funds for development of panchayats. Development of rural areas is being taken up on a priority basis, he said, adding that poor families in the State are being given houses under various schemes, free electricity and pension. “Sincere attempts are being made to fulfil Biju Babu’s dream of development of rural Odisha and empowering women of the State,”he said.

Naveen was accompanied by ministers Bikram Kesari Arukh, Pradeep Panigrahy, Usha Devi, Aska MP Ladukishore Swain and MLAs Sugnana Kumari Deo, RC Choupatnaik and Srikant Sahu.
 The Chief Minister inaugurated an NAC office building, agriculture training centre, rural development office, buildings of Junior Women’s College, Junior Science College and Degree College at Belaguntha.
‘At Balipadar, the Chief Minister inaugurated the CDPO building, extension agriculture information centre, fire station, office of   Antarpada panchayat, additional classrooms of Balipadar School, Langaleswar Kalyan Manadap, office building of Polosara mini stadium and Polosara NAC building. He also laid foundation stones of several projects.

Naveen inaugurated college building at Kabisuryanagar. At Dhanaghar in Chikiti block, Naveen inaugurated hostels for Samantiaspalli Vidyapitha and Surala Vidyapitha, Rampa Barada Vidyapitha, Sunapur Vidyapitha, Adivasi Vidyapitha and Tadaka Sahi girls hostel, Information Centre at Chikiti, Chikiti SDPO office and a fire station. Massive security arrangements were made at the venues.
