IAF air show in Cuttack on Dec 23

The Indian Air Force (IAF) will organise an ‘Air Show’ in the Millennium City on December 23 to commemorate the birth centenary of legendry leader late Biju Patnaik.

CUTTACK: The Indian Air Force (IAF) will organise an ‘Air Show’ in the Millennium City on December 23 to commemorate the birth centenary of legendry leader late Biju Patnaik.
The 40-minute air show will be performed by IAF at Khannagar Park to pay respect to Patnaik who was one of the best pilots of his time. IAF personnel will exhibit several daredevil acts including parachute dropping within radius of five km from Khannagar park over Kathajodi river bank.

As many as 100 pilots, 10 IAF officials of Surya Kiran Aerobatics, Saranga Aerobatics and Akash Ganga Aerobatics teams of IAF will participate in the daredevil show with 6 helicopters, 10 fighter aircraft.
The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of the air show. The administration, which has arranged sitting facilities for 5,000 people, has also taken step for making live commentary.

Collector Nirmal Chandra Mishra has directed forest officials to take necessary steps to keep birds away from the venue.  “The administration has banned sale of fish and meat in Khannagar and its nearby areas for three days prior to the event those will woo birds,” Mishra informed.
While the electricity departmental officials have been asked to provide uninterrupted power supply to the venue, the Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) has been asked to keep ambulance and health officials ready at the spot.

Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Sports and Youth Service Department, Vishal Kumar Dev, Police Commissioner YB Khurania, DCP Sanjeev Arora and top officials of Cuttack district administration including Collector Nirmal Mishra visited the air show venue on Sunday to inspect and supervise arrangements.
