JEYPORE : One person was injured in a crossfire between two gangs near Chandanbad street in Jeypore town on Tuesday evening.
The injured, Javed, who sustained bullet injury on his leg, was admitted to Jeypore Government Hospital.
He was later shifted to an unknown hospital in Visakhapatnam. Police is yet to reach him to inquire into the matter. Shops in the area remained shut on Wednesday anticipating further disturbance.
Jeypore Town PS IIC T Rath said police would take action only after an FIR is lodged by the victim or his family.
Meanwhile, several citizen committees and elders of Jeypore town demanded before the South West Range DIG to review the law and order situation in the town.
