Odisha State Beverages Corporation goes online for cashless transaction

The Odisha State Beverages Corporation Limited (OSBCL) has gone online for cashless transaction.

BHUBANESHWAR: The Odisha State Beverages Corporation Limited (OSBCL) has gone
online for cashless transaction.

The online payment module of the corporation was launched today by chief secretary
AP Padhi. Stating that the initiative is yet another step forward towards ease of doing business which is a
priority area of the state government, the chief secretary said the module will enable quick and transparent
transaction thereby helping the retailers to do their business without any hurdles from the side of the corporation.

The chief secretary directed the corporation authorities to initiate steps for automating other operations including godown management and  inventory management up to retail level of the Corporation.

Secretary in the excise department Bishnupada Sethi said the online module has been developed within a week because of the active support of the State Bank of India and National Informatics
Center, Bhubaneswar. He said the online payment module would make the business of the Corporation hassle free and more transparent. It would help facilitate real time transaction tracking, he said.

Addressing the function, managing director of OSBCL Dwijaraj Kar said the corporation has implemented online system for generation of indent by the liquor suppliers, purchase orders by the Corporation, excise permits by the excise authority, consignment dispatch note by the liquor suppliers and stock receipt notes by the Corporation.

The corporation has 9 depots at Chandikhol, Khordha, Nirgundi, Angul, Sambalpur, Balasore, Berhampur, Rayagada and Bolagir. About 1600 retailers are attached to these depots. In the first phase, the online payment module would be implemented in Chandikhol depot. The system would be rolled out to other depots within the next two to three months.

Excise commissioner Prasant Kumar Senapati, General Manager of SBI  BVG Reddy, deputy director general of NIC PK Paramanik along with senior officers and retailers attended the inaugural function.
