Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik orders RDC inquiry

He visited the Capital Hospital and discussed with doctors about the condition of patients shifted there.

BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ordered a Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) level inquiry into the fire mishap at Sum Hospital which has so far claimed 23 lives.

RDC (central division) AB Ota will inquire into the incident. The Chief Minister also announced free medical treatment for patients who have been shifted from Sum Hospital to other hospitals.

He visited the Capital Hospital and discussed with doctors about the condition of patients shifted there.

The Chief Minister expressed serious concern over the fire accident and directed the Government hospitals to provide necessary treatment to the shifted patients. He also requested all private hospitals to extend treatment to the patients shifted from Sum Hospital.

Meanwhile, Governor SC Jamir, Union Ministers Jual Oram, Dharmendra Pradhan and OPCC president Prasad Harichandan have condoled the deaths.
