SUM Hospital suspends three officials

SUM Hospital authorities have ordered a probe and placed three officials under suspension for dereliction of duty.

BHUBANESWAR: The SUM Hospital authorities have ordered a probe and placed three officials under suspension for dereliction of duty.

Hospital fire safety officer, power supply officer and hospital manager will remain suspended till the probe is completed.

An internal inquiry committee led by Siksha O Anusandhan University VC Amit Banerjee has been formed to ascertain the cause of fire mishap.

The committee will submit a report following which action would be initiated against the guilty, a release stated.

The hospital authorities also have announced to provide ex-gratia as per law, bear the cost of treatment of all patients and cooperate the Government during inquiry.
