BHAWANIPATNA: Special Vigilance Judge of Bhawanipatna sentenced four former officials of ITDA, Bhawanipatna to two years of rigorous imprisonment on Thursday for misappropriating Rs 2.73 lakh in a CD work in Lanjigarh- Bengaon road in 2005.
The convicted are the then assistant PD, technical, Sasanka Sekhar Pattnaik; assistant engineer Aswini kumar Sharma, two junior engineers Nigamananda Panda and Karunakara Panda.
On a tip-off, anti-corruption sleuths had initiated an inquiry against the four along with the head clerk Parikhita Nisanka. However, Nisanka was acquitted in the case. A fine of Rs 5000 each has also been imposed by the judge.
