PARADIP: Director General (DG) of Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Rajendra Singh on Thursday reviewed the coastal security mechanism during his two-day visit to Paradip. Singh also interacted with local ICG officials, including Deputy Inspector General of ICG Paradip Sanjib Diwan, during a meeting at the conference hall of coastal guard office. He discussed about the future expansion and presence of the force in the State.

A senior officer of ICG informed Singh that Paradip coast is more prone to terror attacks as it houses different mega industries including Paradip port and oil refinery project of IOCL. A threat is looming large over the fate of Odisha coast, especially in Paradip, as it is one of the vulnerable points for unabated exodus of foreign nationals from sea route. So the visit of the DGICG is aimed at bolstering ties with all stakeholders of coastal security mechanism, the official said.
