BERHAMBUR: Traffic between Berhampur and Taratarini Chowk remained disrupted for the second consecutive day on Sunday following the collapse of a diversion road near the chowk.
The diversion road was built in 2015 for construction of a bridge. Due to incessant rains for the last two days, water from Jayamangal canal overflowed and washed away the road on Saturday. Besides, water has also been overflowing through the under construction bridge. In the absence of the road, people have to cover extra distance to reach Berhampur and Purusotompur via Hinjli.
Meanwhile, officials of the Public Works Department stated that steps are being taken to restore traffic.
